Murray LaSeine Elementary
Located on James Island in the southwest zone of the Charleston County School District is Murray LaSeine Elementary (MLES). This pre-K to 5th Grad school has received the state’s “Silver Award for achievement”. In addition, it’s implemented teaching aids like ‘Everyday Math’ and the ‘Voyager Reading Program’ to facilitate learning. Physical fitness is also important too and MLES offers gym classes as well as tennis and track and field to students. Plus, the PTA works with students, parents and the community to host a number of activities year-round like Our Muffins for Moms, Doughnuts for Dads and Grits for Grandparents.
