From pastel-colored homes and hidden cobble stone streets to the picturesque landscapes along the natural marsh beds and flora and fauna of the sea islands, the Charleston region evokes romance around every corner.
So, it’s no wonder that one of the most iconic love stories of all time was filmed here. Primarily shot in the Charleston area, the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “The Notebook” by Nicholas Sparks follows two young lovers, Allie and Noah, in the fictional town of Seabrook, South Carolina, in the 1940s.
Scattered throughout Charleston and the sea islands, these four filming locations from The Notebook offer an idyllic sampling of Lowcountry romance.
