Who is Responsible for Preparing a Real Estate Deed?

A real estate deed is the document used to transfer property. It includes the names of the current owners and the soon to be new owners, as well as a description of the property.

The seller’s signature on the deed indicates his intent to transfer title to the buyer. Before a home is closed on, the real estate deed is executed on behalf of the seller.

Anyone or any business entity selling or otherwise transferring real property in South Carolina, will have a deed to their property that must be recorded.
